Hosting change for ECO3 cloud services

During the last weekend of September 2024, the ECO3 software deployment team moved the Apogee StoreFront and PrintSphere cloud solutions to a new European hosting service. The migration started on Saturday, September 28th, at 01:00 UTC and continued during the weekend. The change allows us to maintain the performance, security, and scalability of the service you rely on.

Downtime
We took all necessary steps to minimize the impact of the migration. However, moving all data and updating and validating a configuration takes time. During this process, Apogee StoreFront and PrintSphere were not accessible to both administrators and users. The migration was finished on Sunday morning at 08:00 UTC. We apologize for any inconvenience caused by the temporary unavailability of StoreFront and PrintSphere.

Affected platforms
This migration only impacted StoreFront and PrintSphere users. It did not affect Apogee Cloud or Arkitex Cloud users, or any other cloud services that ECO3 offers. Japanese PrintSphere users were not affected either, since they make use of a locally hosted server setup.

Changes
The migration was limited to moving the services to a new host. There were no new functions or changes in the way the services work.

Action items

Inform your users
If you have customers or team members who frequently use StoreFront or PrintSphere, we recommend informing them beforehand about any scheduled downtime.

Restart your workflow once StoreFront is available again
It is recommended to restart Apogee or Asanti once StoreFront is active again. This ensures the new IP-address of that service is used to establish a connection and allow order download to take place.

Required change to firewalls
If your company network actively blocks communication with unknown systems, you need to add the new IP address of the ECO3 cloud service to the whitelist of your firewall. Failure to do so will prevent your prepress system from communicating with StoreFront or PrintSphere. The IP addresses are:

  • StoreFront: 3.68.9.108
  • PrintSphere: 3.71.192.146

If your network does not restrict access, no changes need to be made. Check with your IT-manager in case of doubt.

Required changes for Ingenico and PayPal Pro users
The Ingenico and PayPal Pro payment gateways check a specific IP address used by StoreFront to handle payment requests. Once the StoreFront server has been moved to the new data center, this IP address will change to 35.159.180.147.If you use Ingenico or PayPal Pro and you filled in a range of restricted IP addresses, you need to add this new IP-address in the back-end website of Ingenico or PayPal Pro. The procedure is described in the Configuring Payment Gateways documentation. Do not wait until the StoreFront server has moved to add the new address to the list of allowed addresses. You can already add it today!

  • For Ingenico, the IP addresses can be configured in Configuration > Technical information > Data and origin verification > Ip address (Online Help, p. 21
  • For PayPal Pro, it is in Account Administration > Manage Security > Allowed IP Addresses (Online Help, p. 61-62)

If the above change is not made in due time, Ingenico and/or PayPal Pro payments will not work once the migration is completed.

Impact on personal data
The new data center is located in Europe, so this move does not affect the way personal data are stored or treated.
