Version 6.2 of the Apogee StoreFront web-to-print solution will be available on March 23, 2025. Prior to this update, the StoreFront services had already been migrated to new hosting facilities. These are the main new features and changes in version 6.2.
Improved security
- An invisible reCAPTCHA can be added to StoreFront log-in and self-registration pages. It prevents bots from trying to access your stores or registering fake user accounts. To make use of this Google service, you need to generate a Site Key and Secret Key using a Google account and enter these in the pop-up window in the Stores > General tab. Users can see that login windows are secured because their browser will show a reCAPCHA icon in the bottom right corner.
- An FTP connection to download order data can only be made using 'Passive Mode.' The less secure 'Active Mode' is no longer supported.
Support for the latest prepress workflow systems
The Advanced > Production Settings > Prepress Settings window has a new entry for the latest Apogee and Asanti versions: 'Apogee Prepress Version >= 14.0' and 'Asanti Production Version >= 7.0'.

The structure of the JDF order data has changed for these new workflows. Existing MIS integrations that also rely on JDF may no longer work and may need to be updated! These are the changes to the JDF data:
- AgfaMISID is now called ECO3MISID. This value is retrieved from the Product Template "MIS ID" for non-stock products, or from the Product for stock (and non-printed) products.
- The URLs for the xml namespaces now refer to the ECO3 domain:
- xmlns:agfa = http://www.agfa.com/w3c/gs/jdf... has been replaced by
xmlns:agfa = http://www.eco3.com/w3c/gs/jdf... - xmlns:pt = http://www.agfa.com/printtalk has been replaced by:
xmlns:pt = http://www.eco3.com/printtalk
- xmlns:agfa = http://www.agfa.com/w3c/gs/jdf... has been replaced by
Extended reporting
A link to the preview image of order items has been added to the JDF and the Order Export Excel file. In the JDF it is included in an element called 'Preview' with ID='ID_StoreFrontOrderItemPreview'. In Order Export Excel files, you can find it in the Order Items worksheet in the column named '64:Preview URL'.
Additional paper grades
To send more detailed information to prepress production systems, the list of supported paper grades has been extended to include ISO paper substrates PS1-PS8. You can select these in the Grade drop-down menu in Advanced > Media Types > Details.
Other improvements
- Apogee StoreFront v6.2 makes use of the latest API for the Stripe payment platform.
- Support for Canadian taxes has been improved.
- Contact information for fixed shipping addresses is now also included in JDF data. In custom invoice templates, these contact data can be added using the ASF_SHIPMENT_COORDINATES variable.
- The Backorder Limit can now be updated for products with a negative current stock value.
