From smarter automation to clearer insights and more sustainable workflows: Apogee v14 brings a fresh wave of improvements to boost efficiency and quality across your prepress operations. This overview highlights seven standout improvements designed to make your work faster, sharper, and more connected.
Prepress Production Dashboard
Gain insights into your production and ask for access to your dedicated Production Dashboard! The Dashboard shows statistics like the number of jobs, plates, proofs produced per day, week, or month, and even job activity per operator.
If you are using InkTune or SPIR@L, the Production Dashboard will provide details on the ink reduction achieved by these cost-efficiency tools. To subscribe to this feature, your Apogee system needs to be on-line and you require an APOGEEnetwork account. The latter allows you to access your Apogee-specific production data.

Proofing improvements
Proofing is now more precise and efficient. Spot colors can be defined using CxF data, and you can create and import custom validation wedges. G7 checks are easier with the new P2P target.
Reports now include the JobLog strip and press profiles can be used directly as references. You can also undo calibration steps, view proofing history in a timeline, and use the latest Techkon and X-Rite measuring devices and Epson proofers.

WebApproval remarks in packaging jobs
WebApproval remarks are now visible in packaging jobs within the prepress interface. Rejected products are clearly marked as rejected, making them easy to identify.
All remarks made by print buyers, brand owners and CSR’s can be accessed directly from the prepress interface, and icons next to each product indicate the latest applicable remark. These icons also serve as links to open the full Remarks List.
Additional WebApproval features
Version 14 introduces a series of updates that enhance collaboration and streamline day-to-day tasks. You can now annotate pages with more than just rectangles—circles, lines, arrows, and freehand tools are available, with adjustable color and thickness. Remarks are also more interactive: with WebApproval Pro, you can reply in a chat-style thread.
Passkey login support has been added for faster, more secure access. You can upload supplementary files (such as fonts or images) to WebApproval jobs, and new filters help you sort by modification date or locate replaced pages. A new maintenance mode enables easy review of user accounts and removal of all inactive ones.
These improvements help you spend less time on routine actions and more time focusing on the work that matters.

Introducing PaperTune
Makeready sheets are the extra sheets of paper used during the initial setup of an offset printing job. They are essential for fine-tuning the press settings, but since these sheets are discarded, they add to the cost of each print job.
PaperTune is a new module within Apogee Impose that intelligently places color bars, allowing you to reuse these start-up sheets up to four times. Reduce your paper waste and cut costs with PaperTune!

Auto Impose enhancements
Auto Impose now gives you more control and flexibility when setting up jobs. You can create mixed assemblies using new options in the Assembly tab, perfect for jobs that don’t fit a single fold.
For square spine products, you can now choose between two automatic spine width modes: a standard layer-based calculation and a creep-based mode that factors in folding behavior. This helps ensure more accurate results for square spine finishes.
Other small upgrades make the interface more intuitive: swap two pages, rotate or flip selected elements, and apply knock-out to strokes in color bar marks. The Multi Web Production Scheme offers improved visuals and interaction, and support for true 'Come & Go' jobs has been enhanced. We’ve also increased the maximum number of deliveries for web printing from 16 to 24.
