Next to offset plate production, Apogee can also process data for digital presses and large-format printing. Version 15 focuses on extending this versatility.

InkTune has been optimized for digital commercial printers to deliver stable, predictable color while reducing ink complexity. It limits over-inking in sensitive areas without affecting quality, resulting in smoother production and more reliable color.

Proofing made easy

Apogee v15 delivers smarter proofing and streamlined certification, helping you achieve consistent, standards-compliant color with less effort. A new one-click automated proofing setup simplifies maintenance and delivers consistent, certified results. Calibrating, checking and updating proofers now takes less time. The new release also includes improved color book handling with combined CxF files.

Packaging improvements

A pharma clock mark has been added to ensure compliance in pharmaceutical packaging workflows.

Packaging proofing has been improved with dedicated calibration curves per spot color and more flexible ink management. Visibility of die and CAD lines in proofs has been enhanced, and packaging imposition reports now provide clearer measurements and layout details.

Smarter automation without coding

Apogee Scripting Engine enables powerful workflow automation with no programming skills required. It works seamlessly with Export, TIFF PlateSetter, OpenConnect, Archiving, InkDrive and other Apogee modules. Automation is configured through simple, ready-to-use templates, supported by an interactive Quick Start Guide with searchable functions and examples.

Automated packaging job production

The new PackIQ automatically collects related input files into complete jobs using naming rules or metadata, then creates grids and applies auto-fill layouts—saving time and reducing manual setup.

PackIQ works out of the box with Hotfolders and can be extended with the Automate Task Processor for more advanced, condition-based packaging workflows. Input files and job timing are clearly visible, ensuring full control and transparency.

Effortless archiving

As runlengths shorten and re-runs happen more often, job management becomes more crucial. With the new Archive functionality, jobs can be archived safely in the cloud or on-premise and quickly retrieved through a dedicated Archived Jobs dialog. Searching, accessing, and managing historical jobs has never been easier.

Additional device support

Apogee supports dozens of different devices, from CtP systems to digital printers, proofers, and measuring and cutting devices. Version 15 includes a direct driver for ECO3 Avalon C and MAGIS platesetters. For proofing, the Epson SureColor P20500 Series can now be connected..

For digital print, the Canon varioPRESS Series (IV7) is supported through Canon PRISMADrive, enabling a modern, high-performance digital workflow.

Online collaboration

The new WebApproval solution introduces a range of usability and workflow enhancements designed to help customer service representatives, print buyers and production teams work more efficiently and with greater confidence. 

Vector PDF download is now available to all users, with no additional licensing required. A new Flip Book toolbar gives users instant access to commonly used viewing tools—without digging through menus or shortcuts. 

Smaller handy improvements include automatic approval of blank pages, search and filter functionality in the notifications pane and customizable email notifications, including company branding such as logos.
